My Skincare Routine- Lucero

My Skincare Routine- Lucero

Hi there! My name is Lucero, and I have been on a long journey figuring out what skin care products work best for me! My skin had been oily/combination for most of my life, and I’ve had acne for as long as I can remember. However, it wasn’t until a few years ago that I discovered my skin was in need of hydration. My skin kept overproducing oil from all the acne products I layered on my skin ;-; Now, my skincare routine is a mix of trying to use up products as well as listening to what my skin needs.

Morning Routine

I only use two products in the morning. I think I stack up the products in the morning, and my skin doesn’t seem to need a lot more. I wash my face with lukewarm water and pat dry. I then use the Derma Peptide Essential Toner.

I don’t know how much this does for my skin (the whole back of the bottle is in full Korean), but I do feel like it adds a bit more moisture and preps my skin for my moisturizer. I am trying to use it up since I got it for free at KCON (perks of going to Q2HAN’s fanmeet/panel early).

I then go in with the Simple Protecting Light Moisturizer.

I went into Target for a different product that I didn’t end up finding, so I got this instead. I am just trying to use up for now, but I’ll probably switch to my Neutrogena moisturizer once I’m done. This product only has SPF 15. It’s not much, but it’ll do for these quarantine months~

Night Routine

Double Cleanse

Muji Mild Oil Cleanser

The start of my night routine is the Muji Mild Oil Cleanser. To be honest, the simplicity in packaging sold me as soon as I saw it. I knew I wanted to stop using eye makeup removers and makeup wipes for a universal oil cleanser, and this was the first thing I saw. I use this with dry face and hands to remove all my makeup before my cleanser.

Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser

The next step in my routine is the Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser. You’ll see this brand as a recurring theme in my skincare routine because of how well the products work. I also love what the company stands for! My skin feels extremely clean yet hydrating after using this product. It’s probably the best cleanser I’ve ever used!

Krave Beauty’s Kale-Lalu-yAHA Chemical Exfoliator

I also love Krave Beauty’s Kale-Lalu-yAHA chemical exfoliator. The bottle recommends using 2-3 times a week, but I definitely use it about 4-5 times a week. This is my second bottle, and I’ve slowly increased the frequency of this product. The glycolic acid in this product targets my acne scarring while adding nutrients to my skin. I just load up my cotton pad with some product and gently wipe across my face.

Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief

Next is another Krave Beauty product (surprise, surprise hehe).  This is the Great Barrier Relief repairing serum. I use about a pump of this when my skin is feeling a bit damaged or in need of extra care. On a good skin day, I’ll use just a dab to keep the routine, but I prefer to save for days when I need it more.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturizer

The last step for my night routine is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturizer. I used to use a thicker moisturizer I got for free at KCON throughout the winter time, but my mom recently bought this at Costco, so I’ll be using it up for now. My skin soaks it up really well and seems to like this product, but I would be careful if you have sensitive skin because it made my mom’s skin peel a bit.

And that’s about it! My acne has been thanking me for treating it well, but she does get a bit upset with my hot cheetos/takis obsession. As much as these products help, it’s important to be consistent, eat proper nutrients, and drink plenty of water! And make sure to always listen to what your skin wants! Best of luck~
